My name is Philippe, and I’m going to be a dad. Our pregnancy, if I can call it that, has been pretty good so far. My partner is doing much better physically, but she has a lot going on in her mind. Always thinking…

Sometimes, I am scared of feeling alone, because she seems totally fulfilled taking care of the baby. I kind of feel left out. I want to take on my role of father, support her, but it’s not always easy.

I think about our baby too. It now has eyebrows and eyelashes, soft transparent skin. If I could see it, it would have arms and legs it can move on its own, even though my partner still can’t feel it. At most it’s 14 cm long (7 inches) and weighs about 110-160 grams, like a coconut! 😊

Practical Advice:

  • A nice meal together is a great time to share your thoughts and concerns with each other;
  • Don’t forget to write down your questions for your doctor, midwife or nurse during your next appointment;
  • If you don’t already have a date for your 20-week ultrasound, get on it!

Here are some suggestions to learn more about what’s happening to you and to help you prepare for what’s coming.
