Can ultrasounds help disgorge my breasts?

Postnatal, Your questions

I gave birth three weeks ago, and my breasts really hurt. I saw a breastfeeding specialist and am trying different things to help disgorge them, but nothing seems to work, as I have a blocked duct! My doctor talked about ultrasounds…have you ever heard of this Marie?

Thanks for your help!

Rosalie

Rosalie, poor you! I know how painful it can be. While you haven’t told me what you have done to try to improve your situation, ultrasounds can be used to help disgorge your breasts or unblock a milk duct. It’s a short procedure that is painless and can help avoid the development of mastitis. Please read my article called Ultrasounds and Breastfeeding, where physiotherapists work with me to explain this technique.
