I always wonder if my baby is getting enough milk from by breasts.

Postnatal, Your questions

My name is Johanne, and I am always wondering if my baby is getting enough milk from my breasts. How can I make sure that they? He is my first baby and seems to be doing fine, but…I don’t know how many ounces he is drinking…if only we could know! 😊 Thanks for your help, Johanne.

Johanne, I understand your concerns, but even if you don’t know how much your baby is drinking, what’s important is that he drinks enough. How can you tell if they are?

Check for:

  •   Does your baby urinate at least 6-8 times a day?
  •   Is your baby gaining their expected weight associated with their growth curve and age?
  •   Does your baby wake up on their own to ask to be fed and interacts with you?

If the answer is yes to all these questions, your baby is getting enough milk, and you don’t have to worry about their consumption levels.

All the best and keep up the excellent work!
