Can I take the pill while breastfeeding?

Postnatal, Your questions

Marie, I gave birth three weeks ago, and I am scared of taking contraceptive pills because I worry it will harm my breastfeeding. Is there really a danger that it will diminish my milk production?

It’s an excellent question because when a woman breastfeeds her baby, different contraceptive options are suggested that will have less impact on her breastfeeding. Please read my article Contraceptives and Breastfeeding to learn about the different options and make an informed choice with your partner.
