I don’t like being pregnant. Am I normal?

15-16 weeks pregnant, Health advice, Questions/answers

My name is Genevieve, and I am 23 weeks pregnant. I have to say that I don’t really like being pregnant. I feel like I am being possessed, and I am not comfortable with the idea that my baby will continue to grow and take up more space inside me. I know that I tend to panic and suffer from severe anxiety during my life in general, but I need psychological help. My mind isn’t right.

Thanks for any advice.

Genevieve

I am happy you are open to your feelings and that you want to try to feel better for the rest of your pregnancy. Human beings are complex, and I think an interdisciplinary approach could help with your physiologic, anatomic, metabolic and psychological changes. You need to be examined from many different angles before understanding how to help you. There are many possible approaches to your situation. Please read my two articles about interdisciplinarity, and you will see which discipline can help best. So go to A Healthy Body and Mind During Pregnancy and Acupuncture, Osteopathy, Massage Therapy and Naturopathy During Pregnancy.

Thank you for your question and take good care of yourself.
