Can I apply sunscreen on my four-month-old baby?

Postnatal, Your questions

I wanted to know how I can protect my four-month-old baby from the sun during our vacation at the ocean in August. I know I can’t use sunscreen but what else can I do than cover him. Looking forward to your answer.

Suzanne

Hello Suzanne, covering your baby is a way to protect him from the sun. But there are other practical things you can do as well. Since April 2015, there are new recommendations from the Canadian Dermatology Association. You can now use sunscreen for babies under six months of age. You have to follow the recommendations I talk about in my article Sunscreen or no? I am sure this new information will help parents like you who have questions.
