Is thawed milk ok for my baby?

Postnatal, Your questions

I am wondering if my breastmilk is ok after thawing it. It has been frozen for several weeks. I am worried about giving to my baby. Is it ok? Thank you for your help, Alexandra

Alexandra, it’s a good idea to ask this question, but don’t worry, even after freezing your milk is excellent for your baby. Of course, over a long period, it can lose some of its nutritional value, but it still remains the best milk to give to your baby. It may lose some of its immune system protection after freezing. That’s why we suggest giving the milk to the baby within 24 hours after thawing to avoid bacterial contamination. I hope this helps Alexandra.
