Infertility is diagnosed following a multitude of examinations and test that confirm a specific problem.

Infertility is generally defined as the failure to conceive after one year of trying after stopping contraception with regular sexual relations.

Infertility is being diagnosed at a faster rate. Between 10-15% of couples in Canada are facing infertility, which is a high number. It affects many couples who often despair in the face of all the unknowns surrounding the issue. Frequently, many of these couples will hide their conception problems, scared that others will judge or make disparaging comments. Many couples will feel ashamed and will isolate themselves from couples with babies. It is like adding salt to their already painful wound.

In this article, I want to focus on risk factors that can influence the ability to conceive, both for men and women. Many detailed articles will cover the causes of failure for women, infertility tests for men, and tests and treatments that may help overcome the problem.
