I have a big brown line on my pregnant tummy!

13-14 weeks pregnant, Health advice, Questions/answers

I am very spooked by my brown line on my stomach. I am 30 weeks pregnant and, looking in the mirror, I saw this brown line running from my belly button to pubis. Is this normal? Will it be permanent?

Manon

Manon, this brown line appears when your stomach muscles stretch to allow the stomach to leave your pelvis. As you said, your pregnancy is progressing quickly and I figure your stomach has changed a lot. You’ll see that after childbirth, the muscles will go back to normal and the brown line will disappear.

All the best,

Marie
