What is pregnancy cholestasis?

17-18 weeks pregnant, Health advice

Marie, I itch all over! My doctor said I have pregnancy cholestasis. Can you tell me what this means and what I can do to help my situation?

Myriam

Pregnancy cholestasis is a pregnancy complication which affects the pregnant woman’s liver. Even if we don’t know the exact cause, this situation can lead to severe itching for the future mother. Please read my article about pregnancy cholestasis for more information. And don’t forget, it’s only temporary.
