Why do beauty marks expand during pregnancy?
Hello Marie, I noted that my beauty marks have expanded during my pregnancy. Why? Will they go back to normal after I give birth?
Thanks, Marie-Paule
A woman’s metabolism increases during pregnancy and augments what she already has. The melanin in a pregnant woman’s blood affects skin pigmentation. Freckles, beauty marks, darker areola, acne and pregnancy brown spots can be accentuated. Most of these changes are temporary and usually go back to normal after childbirth.
All the best!
