My daughter’s labia minora are stuck together.

Postnatal, Your questions

Yesterday I was scared when I saw my 8-month-old daughter’s labia minora were stuck together and closed. I ran to the emergency room and a doctor there explained to me what it meant. I am certain there are others out there that have experienced this. Can you write an article to inform parents so they don’t panic as I did? Thank you Marie, and continue your great work! Alexandra

Alexandra, thank you for your kind words and for your suggestion. In fact, labial adhesion, which is also called fused labia, occurs frequently and is not dangerous for your baby as long as they can urinate. I wrote a full article about labial adhesion for more information.
