Do I need a special soap to wash my baby’s clothes?

Postnatal, Questions/answers, Your questions

I was wondering if I could wash my future baby’s clothing in the same wash I do for my own. Do I need special soap? I want to buy what I need. Thanks in advance for your help, Martyne

Hello Martyne,

Typically, given the baby has more sensitive skin after childbirth, we suggest using a fragrance-free soft soap, such as Ivory Snow or Zero or any other hypoallergenic and chemical-free soap. When you run out of your first container of soap to wash the baby’s clothes, your breastfeeding bra and compresses, the baby will likely be two months old, and you can then start using your regular soap if the baby does have reactions or skin problems. It’s as simple as that. Good luck, and please watch my other videos and read my other articles, as there are many answers to questions parents often have.
