How can I relieve my back pain during pregnancy?

5-6 weeks pregnant, Health advice, Questions/answers

I have severe back pain and it’s really bothering me. I don’t know what to do. I know I can’t take anti-inflammatories…I am 26 weeks pregnant, and I don’t know how I can go on like this! Can you help?

Camille

Camille, first, let me explain what is causing your pain. The heavy load you carry in your pelvis during pregnancy causes you to take different postures and leads to tension, which in the end, causes pain in your lower back. Now, given that, I have different suggestions that are risk-free for you and your baby which can help your situation. Please read my article Acupuncture and Pregnancy for one option.
